USA Cricketer Akhilesh Reddy has been handed an eight-year ban from all forms of cricket after an International Cricket Council (ICC) Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of multiple breaches of anti-corruption regulations linked to the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
The tribunal ruled that the United States international attempted to influence a match, encouraged another player to participate in corrupt activities, and deliberately destroyed evidence during the official investigation. The suspension is considered effective from November 21, 2025, the date on which Reddy was provisionally suspended.
ICC Tribunal Finds USA Cricketer Akhilesh Reddy Guilty
According to the ICC, the investigation was conducted by the Designated Anti-Corruption Officials (DACO) appointed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB), which oversees anti-corruption enforcement during the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
After reviewing the evidence, the ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal concluded that USA Cricketer Akhilesh Reddy violated several provisions of the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code. As a result, he has been banned from participating in all cricket activities for eight years.
The ruling marks one of the most significant disciplinary actions involving an American international cricketer in recent years.
Charges Against Akhilesh Reddy
The tribunal found Reddy guilty of three separate anti-corruption offences during the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025.
Attempt to Fix a Match
The tribunal ruled that Reddy attempted to engage in match-fixing during the tournament, violating Article 2.1.1 of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The offence relates to an attempt to improperly influence the outcome or conduct of a cricket match.
Encouraging Another Player to Participate
In another serious breach, USA Cricketer Akhilesh Reddy was found guilty under Article 2.1.4 for attempting to persuade or encourage another player to become involved in corrupt activities connected to match-fixing.
The tribunal determined that his actions went beyond personal involvement and included efforts to recruit another cricketer into the illegal scheme.
Destroying Evidence During the Investigation
The tribunal also found that Reddy obstructed the anti-corruption investigation by deleting messages and data from his mobile phone. This violated Article 2.4.7, which prohibits any action that interferes with or obstructs an official investigation.
Deleting digital evidence during an ongoing inquiry was treated as a serious offence and contributed to the length of the suspension.

International Career with the USA Team
The 26-year-old USA Cricketer Akhilesh Reddy has represented the United States in four T20 International matches.
He made his international debut for the USA against the Cayman Islands during the North America T20 Cup. Primarily a batter who can also contribute as a part-time bowler, Reddy has taken one wicket in his international career.
Although his international appearances have been limited, the ICC’s ruling has effectively brought his cricket career to a halt for the duration of the eight-year ban.

The Abu Dhabi T10 League is organised by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). While the ECB manages the tournament, the responsibility for implementing and monitoring anti-corruption measures is handled by the ICC’s Designated Anti-Corruption Officials (DACO).
These officials are tasked with investigating any suspected breaches of anti-corruption regulations and ensuring that players, officials, and other participants comply with the sport’s integrity rules. The investigation involving USA Cricketer Akhilesh Reddy was carried out under this framework before being presented to the ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal for a final decision.
