India Under19 Squad: Virender Sehwag’s Son Aryaveer and Rahul Dravid’s Son Anvay Selected for India U-19 Team

India Under19 Squad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India Under-19 squad for the upcoming youth series against Australia Under-19. The announcement has attracted considerable attention because Aryaveer Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, and Anvay Dravid, son of legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid, have both been selected for the Indian U-19 side.

The India Under-19 team will face Australia Under-19 in a three-match unofficial ODI series during Australia’s tour of India. The matches are scheduled to be played from September 18 to September 23, 2026, with all three one-day games set to take place in Rajkot.

The selection of Aryaveer Sehwag and Anvay Dravid has added an interesting family connection to the upcoming series. Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid were two of India’s most prominent batters during their playing careers, and seeing their sons together in the India Under-19 setup is expected to generate plenty of interest among cricket fans.

Lakshya Raichandani Named Captain

For the three-match unofficial ODI series, Lakshya Raichandani has been appointed captain of the India Under19 Squad, while Yashvardhan Chauhan will serve as vice-captain.

Anvay Dravid has been selected as a wicketkeeper in the squad, while Aryaveer Sehwag is also part of the 15-member team. Their inclusion means the next generation of two highly respected Indian cricket families will have an opportunity to represent the country at the youth level.

The three ODI matches will be played at Rajkot on September 18, 21 and 23. Each match is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am.

India Under-19 ODI Squad

The Indian squad for the unofficial ODI series includes Lakshya Raichandani (captain), Yashvardhan Chauhan (vice-captain), Rajat Baghel, Aryaveer Sehwag, V.K. Vineet, Kushagra Oza, Arjun Rajput, Manal Chauhan, Anvay Dravid (wicketkeeper), V. Yashveer, Rohit Yadav, Shavin Vinod, Mohit Ulwa, Chigurupati Venkat and Kavya Patel.

The squad features a combination of young players looking to establish themselves at the junior international level. The upcoming series against Australia will provide these players with valuable experience in competitive cricket.

Australia Under-19 Squad

Australia have also announced their squad for the youth ODI series in India. Their team includes Casey Barton, Hayden Barbulovic, Eli Brain, Will Byrom, Blake Kettle, Jack Joznek, Spencer Green, Conor Gregory, Charlie Henderson, Jed Hollick, Matthew Lough, Neil Patel, Jacob Peetz, Patrick Sullivan, Theo Singos and Thomas Vaisio.

With both sides preparing for the series, the three matches in Rajkot will offer an important opportunity for young cricketers from India and Australia to test themselves against strong opposition.

India Under-19 Squad for Unofficial Test Matches

Following the ODI series, India Under-19 and Australia Under-19 will play two multi-day matches. Yashvardhan Chauhan will captain the Indian side in the unofficial Test matches, with Lakshya Raichandani serving as vice-captain.

The India Under-19 multi-day squad includes Yashvardhan Chauhan (captain), Lakshya Raichandani (vice-captain), Kush Patel, Ayan Akram, Manav Krishna (wicketkeeper), Pranav Raghavendra, Sagar Virk, Abhipray Biswas (wicketkeeper), Priyanshu Singh, Kushagra Oza, Rohit Yadav, Mohit Ulwa, Manal Chauhan, Ishan Om and Aryan Yadav.

India vs Australia Under-19 Full Schedule

The first unofficial ODI between India Under-19 and Australia Under-19 will be played on September 18, 2026, at 9:30 am in Rajkot. The second ODI will take place at the same venue on September 21 at 9:30 am, followed by the third match on September 23 at 9:30 am.

The first multi-day match is scheduled from September 27 to September 30 in Rajkot, beginning at 9:00 am. The second multi-day match will be played from October 5 to October 8 in Ahmedabad, also starting at 9:00 am.

The upcoming tour will therefore give India’s young cricketers an extended opportunity to compete against Australia across both limited-overs and multi-day formats. However, the biggest talking point for Indian cricket followers will undoubtedly be the presence of Aryaveer Sehwag and Anvay Dravid in the India Under19 Squad, bringing the names of two celebrated Indian cricket legends back into the spotlight on the field.
