However, the target was simply too low for Pakistan to defend. India maintained control despite the loss of wickets and eventually reached 57 for three in 8.4 overs.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 18 and guided India safely across the finishing line. Her composed innings ensured that India avoided any late drama and completed the seven-wicket victory with plenty of deliveries remaining.
