IND vs AFG 2nd T20: India continued their dominant run against Afghanistan as they registered a convincing seven-wicket victory in the second T20 match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The win gave India an unassailable lead in the series and once again highlighted the team’s strength in both bowling and batting.
Afghanistan were unable to put up a challenging total after being asked to bat first. The visitors managed to score 159 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs. India’s bowlers kept the Afghan batting lineup under constant pressure and made it difficult for the batters to score freely throughout the innings.
Sanju Samson Leads India’s Chase with a Half-Century
Chasing 160 for victory, India made an excellent start, with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson putting the Afghanistan bowlers under immediate pressure. The opening pair added 88 runs for the first wicket, giving India a strong platform in the run chase.
Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan eventually broke the partnership by dismissing Abhishek Sharma. The young Indian opener produced an aggressive innings of 39 runs from just 19 deliveries. His knock included two boundaries and four powerful sixes, giving India the momentum they needed during the early stages of the chase.
Sanju Samson then took responsibility for keeping the innings moving and produced a superb half-century. His confident stroke play helped India remain comfortably ahead of the required run rate as the chase progressed.
India eventually completed the chase with a seven-wicket victory, underlining their control over the match from the early stages.

India’s Bowlers Put Afghanistan Under Pressure
India’s dominance had started well before the run chase. Their bowling attack kept Afghanistan’s batters restricted and prevented them from building any significant partnerships.
Jasprit Bumrah was particularly impressive with the new ball. He began his spell by delivering a maiden over, immediately creating pressure on the Afghan batting lineup. Arshdeep Singh operated effectively from the other end, and the pressure created by India’s pace attack soon resulted in a wicket.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz attempted to break the pressure by playing an attacking shot, but he failed to control it. Ravi Bishnoi completed the catch, sending the dangerous opener back to the pavilion.

Afghanistan Lost Wickets at Regular Intervals
Afghanistan struggled to establish stability throughout their innings. Their first wicket fell without a run on the scoreboard, after which their captain attempted to steady the innings.
However, another wicket after the 50-run mark once again put Afghanistan on the back foot. With wickets continuing to fall, there was a point when Afghanistan appeared unlikely to even reach the 150-run mark.
Rashid Khan, batting at No. 8, played an important late cameo of 28 runs and helped Afghanistan add valuable runs during the final stages of the innings. Darwish Rasooli also contributed 26 runs.
The lower-order batters provided several useful contributions, allowing Afghanistan to reach 159 runs for eight wickets rather than being restricted to a much smaller total.
India’s disciplined bowling, followed by an aggressive opening partnership and a composed chase, ultimately proved decisive. With this seven-wicket victory in the IND vs AFG 2nd T20, India strengthened their position in the series and maintained their impressive record against Afghanistan.
