IND vs AFG 3rd T20I Highlights: India produced a dominant all-round performance in the third and final T20I against Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, securing a massive 127-run victory and completing a 3-0 clean sweep in the three-match series. India’s batting attack set the tone early, while the bowlers ensured Afghanistan never came close to chasing down the imposing target.
India batted first and posted a huge total of 221/7 in 20 overs. Afghanistan, in reply, struggled throughout the chase and were bowled out for just 94 runs in 14.1 overs, giving India a convincing win in the series finale.
Abhishek Sharma Smashes Record-Breaking T20I Century
The biggest highlight of the match was Abhishek Sharma’s explosive batting. The Indian opener tore into the Afghanistan bowling attack and completed his century in just 30 balls, setting a new record for the fastest century by an Indian male batter in T20I cricket.
Abhishek finished with a breathtaking 108 runs from 34 balls. His innings included 9 fours and 11 sixes, as he kept attacking the bowlers from the very beginning. His aggressive approach gave India the perfect start and put Afghanistan under pressure during the opening overs.
The left-handed opener was particularly destructive in the Powerplay. He reached his half-century in only 16 balls, providing India with an extraordinary scoring rate and laying the foundation for a huge total.
India Set a New Powerplay Record
Abhishek Sharma was well supported by Sanju Samson at the top of the order. The opening pair attacked the Afghanistan bowlers from the first over and put together a remarkable 100 runs during the Powerplay.
That effort created a new team record for India in the Powerplay in T20I cricket. The rapid scoring also meant Afghanistan were forced onto the defensive almost immediately, with their bowlers struggling to contain the Indian openers.
Sanju Samson Hits Another Half-Century
Sanju Samson also made a significant contribution to India’s commanding total. The wicketkeeper-batter scored 50 runs from 35 balls, continuing his impressive form with the bat.
Abhishek and Samson added 142 runs for the first wicket, giving India an outstanding platform. Although India lost several wickets later in the innings, the explosive start had already put the team in a strong position.
India eventually finished on 221/7 after 20 overs, leaving Afghanistan with a daunting target of 222 runs.

Afghanistan Collapse Under Pressure
Afghanistan needed 222 runs to win, but their chase never gathered momentum. The Indian bowling attack kept taking wickets at regular intervals, preventing the visitors from building any meaningful partnership.
Afghanistan were eventually bowled out for only 94 runs in 14.1 overs. The huge difference between the two teams’ totals underlined India’s dominance throughout the match.
India therefore secured a 127-run victory and completed a 3-0 clean sweep over Afghanistan. The third T20I also stood out for Abhishek Sharma’s record-breaking century, India’s record Powerplay performance and the team’s disciplined bowling effort.
The Delhi contest brought the three-match series to a decisive conclusion, with India finishing unbeaten and Afghanistan unable to find an answer to India’s aggressive batting and effective bowling combination.
