India made one change to their playing XI for the second T20I. Fast bowler Yash Thakur was handed his international debut, replacing Ashok Sharma. The young pacer made an immediate impact with an important wicket during Zimbabwe’s chase.

Young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an aggressive cameo, smashing 20 from only nine deliveries, including three fours and a six, before Richard Ngarava dismissed him. India slipped to 29/2.
Captain Shreyas Iyer then steadied the innings with 25 off 20 balls, striking four boundaries before Brian Bennett removed him. At 95/3, India needed a strong partnership, and that came through Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma.
Kishan produced one of his finest T20I innings, reaching his half-century in just 31 balls. He dominated the Zimbabwe bowlers with elegant stroke play and completed his innings with 81 runs from 44 deliveries, including nine fours and two sixes.
Tilak Varma provided the perfect support before taking charge in the final overs. The left-hander raced to a fifty in only 23 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes. He remained unbeaten on 60 from just 29 deliveries, while Shivam Dube stayed not out on 6.
Rinku Singh also chipped in with 12 runs from eight balls before falling late in the innings.
India completed their 20 overs with an imposing total of 219/5, leaving Zimbabwe with a challenging target of 220.
Zimbabwe’s Chase Never Gathered Momentum
Zimbabwe’s reply started with some attacking intent as Brian Bennett struck 32 from 19 balls, including three fours and three sixes. However, once India broke the opening stand, the wickets fell at regular intervals.
Ben Curran managed only one run before Prince Yadav dismissed him. Dion Myers scored 12 but was bowled by Ravi Bishnoi.
A major turning point came when Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza was dismissed without scoring after facing three balls. Prince Yadav took another important wicket, reducing Zimbabwe to 49/4 and putting India firmly in control.
Wesley Madhevere was dismissed for just 2, while Brad Evans entertained briefly with 19 runs from 11 balls, including two sixes, before Abhishek Sharma bowled him.
The Indian bowling attack maintained constant pressure, preventing any meaningful partnerships from developing. Zimbabwe were eventually bowled out for 129 in 17.5 overs, handing India a comprehensive 90-run victory.
